Desiring God

Desiring God “focuses on the importance of directing our hearts toward God”. Many times we desire God. We desire God in the good times and bad times. Every time we want something and can’t get we always know how to call upon the Lord. When we desire God we go to him in the midst of our trails and tribulation. Desiring more of God means that we are willing to change our ways and ready to follow his ways and being obedient to the word of God. In our daily prayers, our soul needs an inclination to God and his word. We desire God because we want to know him more, we want to be closer to him, and we want more of his word to draw near to him. “And you, my son, Solomon acknowledge the God of your father, and serve wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him he will reject you forever (1 Chronicles 28:9 NIV). Our eyes need to be open, so that when our inclination leads us to the word we will see what is really there and not just our ideas. Open my eyes that I may see your wonderful law (Psalm119:18).

What I really desire for me and other believers is to engage on the word of God and the works of his spirit to answer to our prayers is that our heart will be satisfied with God and not with the world for we know that true satisfaction comes from God. (Psalm 90:14) Satisfy us in the morning with you unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. One thing can truly say from my heart I don’t just want to be happy in my little private world with God. I want happiness to be as full as possible for spreading and expanding for my children, associates, family and everyone else around me. I want to be strong in joy. This will make me durable in face of treats or adversity.

Really do we desire God? Remember what our lives were like when we were not yet save. Certainly we probably did not desire God then. God’s grace and mercy is at work in us, we have know come to desire God more because our belief and faith are much stronger now. We want more of god, more of his word, more understanding, growth, increase, and wisdom without The father we could never have our heart desire. Our worship is now alive. Think about this, “How bad do you desire God? What are you willing to do?  Next level I, you, or others are ready to be intoxicated by God through his spirit. God would grant you according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthen with his power through his spirit in the inner man. (Eph 3:16)
